IHACC Masters student Kaitlin Patterson, and Stephanie Austin (TRAC3 and CCARG member), presented their research at the 5th annual McGill Sustainability Research Symposium March 13, 2015. Kaitlin discussed her research on food security among indigenous Batwa communities in Uganda, while Stephanie presented her research on climate change adaptation in Canada’s health sector. Didacus Namanya is presenting his PhD work today at the Geography in Action! Brown Bag Seminar Series, hosted by the Department of Geography at McGill University. His talk, entitled "Access to health care in the context of malaria among Uganda Batwa indigenous people: A geospatial analysis", will take place in Burnside Hall room 426 at noon. All are welcome.

Kate Bishop, a PhD student at U of Guelph received the 2nd place at the Arctic Change Student Poster Session at the Arctic Change conference in Ottawa (December 8-12 2014). Congratulations to Mya Sherman: People's Choice award at the Global Climate & Health Alliance
Mya Sherman's abstract was selected as one of the top 3 abstracts submitted to the Global Climate & Health Alliance research prize, which was part of the Climate and Health Summit in Lima, Peru (December 6th, 2014). She was invited to give an oral presentation on her research work in the Peruvian Amazon. Selected candidates were given the opportunity to have their climate and health research work viewed and critiqued by some of the biggest names in the field.
