Progress towards mitigating climate change and current sources of emissions are detailed in the Working Group III’s contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report titled, Climate Change 2022: Mitigation of Climate Change. IHACC Investigator Dr. Shuaib Lwasa was a lead author for Chapter Eight in the report, which focuses on urban systems and other settlements. The chapter outlines the complex relationships between urbanization and greenhouse gas emissions.
